Plus, Mathieu will be doing a special presentation on event photography—giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how he prepares and covers events, sharing experiences and photos from three unique events shot this month: United Way's Soup Fest, a corporate social event, and U de M Soirée Internationale. Each event brought its own challenges and fun moments—come see how Mathieu tackled them!

 

Finally, we'll show the winners for the Canada My Country contest.

We invite you to this week’s Learning Session: Photo Magic at our usual U de M meeting room on Thursday, February 6th at 7pm (Be there 20-30 minutes in advance to mingle with other photographers before the session.)

In this session we will be doing live photography with a model of some very interesting and creative techniques using a single speedlight.

Topic: Post-Processing 101 - Lightroom
When: Oct. 30 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Join Mathieu Chiasson in a post-processing 101 session using Lightroom. Though I will be using lightroom, all post-processing techniques and principles applies to all post-processing software. I will be using Lightroom (not Lightroom Classic) for this demonstration. This session is aimed for beginners to intermediate level.

Bring your questions!

* I will not cover in this session: Workflow (Importing and exporting your images); I don't use Lightroom in my regular process and I don't feel I can advise well enough in this regards at this time.

  • Alex Vye: "Shooting BnW Film at Petty Int'l Raceway

The presentation is "Staycation - photographing local events in traditional black and white".

Alex Vye, on and off member since 2004, mostly film photographer, collector of old cameras, develops and prints at home.

  • Stephan Reebs: "London i-Phone Shooting"

Hear Stephan talk about his newbie experience as an iPhone photographer on his trip to London last summer.

 A continuous member since 1991, Stephan Reebs is the longest-attending member of the Focus Camera Club. (He is a past president, past past-president, past program officer, past secretary, and past projectionist, but he is excited about the future.)

  • Renée Turcotte: "Ivanoh Demers"

Renée will give a short presentation on Ivanoh Demers and his Saturday reviews of some images from media reports of the week: ‘’Dans l’oeil d’Ivanoh’’ (In the Eye of Ivanoh).

Renée Turcotte, member of the FCC for many years, loves to take pictures of nature, landscape, and horses.
